Privacy Policy

Last updated 5 September 2026 · Lagat, by Simson Softwares Private Limited

Lagat is built to work without us. Your site records — expenses, parties, workers, attendance, hires — are written to your own phone first and stay there. They reach our server only if you turn on cloud sync or backup, or if you use the shared labour register, where a worker on their own phone has to reach the same books you do.

We do not sell your data, we do not share it for advertising, and there are no advertising or analytics trackers in the app.

1. Who we are

Lagat is published by Simson Softwares Private Limited, Chandigarh, India. For anything in this policy, write to support@lagat.in.

2. What we collect, and why

WhatWhyWhere it is kept
Your name and WhatsApp mobile number To create your account and send the one-time code that signs you in. Your number also lets a site owner add you to their site. Our server
Your email (optional) Only if you enter one, for invoices and account notices. Our server
Your site records — expenses, parties, payments, budgets, workers, attendance, wages, hired items This is the app. It is your ledger, kept for you. Your phone. On our server only when you turn on sync or backup, or for a shared labour register.
Location — coordinates and accuracy, at the moment attendance is marked So a day marked present can be shown to have been marked at the site. It is recorded only when someone marks attendance, never in the background, and never while the app is closed. With the attendance record
Photos — bill photos you attach, and the attendance photo taken when a day is marked Proof against a bill, and against a day's work. Your phone. Uploaded only if cloud backup is on, or for shared attendance.
Technical records — a session token, a device identifier, and the time of your last use To keep you signed in, to sync your devices without duplicating entries, and to meter paid features. Our server

We do not collect your contacts, your call or message history, your browsing, or your location at any time other than the moment attendance is marked.

3. Permissions the app asks for

4. Who else sees it

Only these, and only for the job named:

We will disclose data if the law requires it. We will not sell it, and we will not hand it to anyone for advertising or profiling.

5. Where it is kept

Our server is in Mohali, Punjab, India. Backups and photos, when you turn them on, are stored by Backblaze B2, which may hold them outside India.

6. How long we keep it

7. Deleting your account

In the app: Settings → Team → Close my account. Or ask us at support@lagat.in from your registered number's email, or use lagat.in/delete-account.

Closing an account deletes your name, number, email and every site that only you are on, immediately and permanently. A site you share with others is handed to another owner instead of being destroyed — deleting it would take their records with it. Records that remain on such a site, like an attendance day or a wage payment, keep the day and the amount but no longer name you.

What is on your phone is yours and is not touched by this. To clear that, uninstall the app or use Android's "clear storage".

8. Children

Lagat is a tool for running a building site and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly create accounts for anyone under 18.

9. Security

Everything between the app and our server travels over HTTPS. Sign-in codes are stored only as hashes. Access to a site is by explicit invitation and the owner's approval — scanning an invite code is a request, not an entry.

No system is perfect. If you find a weakness, please tell us at support@lagat.in before telling anyone else, and we will fix it.

10. Your rights

You can see everything we hold about you inside the app, correct it there, export it as a spreadsheet or a PDF, and delete it. If you would rather we did any of that for you, write to support@lagat.in.

11. Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects you, we will say so in the app before the change takes effect. The date at the top always shows the current version.
